Arpy Armenakian Shively is a freelance writer with extensive commercial and nonprofit experience. She has researched and written websites, annual reports and advertising copy, public health literature and press releases, articles, keynote speeches and audio-visual presentations for corporate events.
With Melanie and Paul, Arpy has contributed to campaign materials for clients including ACS International Schools, Christ's Hospital School and the National Portrait Gallery.
From 2007 to 2012, Arpy worked with Caroline Hanna of Authentic Marketing, creating or refocusing brand identities and developing marketing materials for clients ranging from sustainable energy providers to farming co-operatives and hotels.
At Garfinkel & Associates, a Washington D.C. agency, Arpy worked on the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Commemorative Book, written to celebrate the Foundation's 70th anniversary. And for the Washington D.C. Office of Planning, Arpy helped write their Framework Plan, the basis of their appeal for revitalising Washington D.C.'s Anacostia waterfront.
Volunteer work includes writing social media content for Acompalia, a hospice and palliative care charity, and for Shingirirai Trust, based in Zimbabwe, empowering local women with HIV/AIDS to transform their lives and their communities.
