Organisational assessment for a major capital campaign to redevelop the LS Lowry galleries and archive, working with joint Development Directors, the CEO and Chairman. An external funder feasibility study is postponed due to Covid and SFP is advising the Lowry on their Covid response strategy and high value funder solicitation.

Somerset House
Capital campaign feasibility study following an ‘organisational readiness’ scoping assessment and campaign planning as a lead associate with a fundraising consultancy. Also guided and supported the recruitment for Head of Major Giving.
National Portrait Gallery
Capital campaign feasibility study which enabled the Gallery to secure a £9.5 million award from the Heritage Lottery Fund. This was followed by campaign and lead gift solicitation planning and guidance on the mid campaign strategy.
Victoria & Albert Museum
Interim management leading major & individual giving including gift solicitation, guidance and strategic support for major gifts to capital, revenue and endowment campaigns. A second project provided a strategic review of the Museum’s American giving programme.
British Postal Museum
Strategic and hands-on support for a major capital campaign and revenue fundraising. Managing a small team and guiding high value corporate, lead and major gift solicitation incorporating matched programme with HLF, to prepare for the Museum’s launch.
Barbican Centre
Three projects; the first developing and introducing individual regular and major giving programmes with the Development Director and Barbican Trust board. The second to create a leadership board and giving circles for the Centre’s international concert season in collaboration with the Southbank Centre. Melanie worked with the Barbican Centre for a third project to develop giving circles to support a major cross arts programme.
Southbank Centre
Multiple projects include a strategic assessment of the Southbank’s major giving following their successful Royal Festival Hall campaign, with Melanie’s support continuing for 18 months to bed down the assessment’s recommendations with the fundraising team, volunteer and executive leadership. Another project focussed on strategic guidance and prospect pipeline building and solicitation planning for the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Hayward Gallery capital development campaign.

Fundraising and leadership audit and a second project providing guidance with establishing major and high value giving, solicitation planning, fundraising leadership and case for support development.
